Passage: John 3:1-15

What does it mean to be "born again"? Jesus isn't interested in followers who want him to be an assistant to help them improve their habits and attain a higher quality of life. He is not our divine butler.

What does he want then? He wants disciples. He wants to redeem us and completely transform us. He wants us to have a whole new orientation. He doesn't want just the ethics part of us, or the behaviour part of us. He wants us to submit to him in our finances, our careers, our schedules, our short-term and long-term plans, our speech, our conduct, our relationships, our desires, our choices, our thoughts, etc. He wants every part of us; he wants all of us! He wants us… He desires us to love him and to follow him and to be completely committed to him.
