Passage: John 7:37-39

Jesus' invitation to come to him to be satisfied of our thirst is a bold claim especially when we consider the context in which he spoke. On the final day of the Feast of Tabernacles, after the water pouring rite was performed, Jesus claims that he is the fulfillment of everything that the feast was pointing to. He is the one who will satisfy the God shaped vacuum in our souls by pouring into our hearts a river of living water, the Holy Spirit, that renews our lives and transforms us into God's people in harmonious relationship with him. This is good news!
