Passage: John 9:1-41
The contrast between the religious leaders and Jesus is so obvious in this text as John draws the readers' attention to Jesus who is a king like no other. While the leaders of the world looked down on the man born blind and tried to put him in his place by casting him out of the synagogue, Jesus hears about the man's loyalty to Jesus and his predicament, and seeks him out to bring him into the family of God. We ought to fall in love with Jesus who is a king like this--bringing those of us who do not deserve his hospitality into his kingdom and his family. We need to deeply admire and love this God who, instead of casting us out, chooses to bring us in at great cost to himself
