Passage: Hebrews 10:8-18
In this special Good Friday service, we reflect on the truth that Jesus died to pay for the penalty of our sins once and for all; that there was nothing lacking in his sacrifice. The debt of our sins was completely satisfied in Jesus' death. Jesus wrestled sin to the ground; he defeated it once for all achieving victory over sin and death. This means we are spectators. Rather than trying to add something to what Jesus accomplished, we watch. We applaud. We stand in awe. We worship. As we take communion together as a church family, we participate as spectators of the greatest event in humankind. Through collective witnessing, we proclaim the Lord's death unto the world.
