The author of Hebrews directs us to pay attention to the eternal hope of heaven that we have in Christ Jesus. Rather than allowing our past to be the only thing that determines our identity, we ought to allow God's future promises to inform the way we live today. We encourage you to regularly "go upstairs" to evaluate whether your belief about the future (the hope of heaven) is informing your present. It would be even better if you invited others to go upstairs with you to take a look at the hope of heaven so that it informs our present together.
