Hey Church Family,
I am honoured to be the first installment of the RightNow Media "staff picks" section of our newsletter. RightNow Media is an online resource that our church offers to all who are looking for video-based content for the purpose of biblical study and growth. There is a huge and growing library available with all kinds of topics covered, from bible studies to book studies, to more topical content regarding the Christian life. It can be a great option for further learning and discipleship growth for all ages.
Over the past few years, our community group has used this resource periodically for our weekly gatherings. We have really benefitted from many of the studies. I think one of the things we appreciate most has been the ability to find concise, engaging options that have a 7-10 minute video introduction on the topic or verse(s), with an accompanying study guide that helps you work through the content. It has been a wonderful way to learn together, and often sparks conversations that foster greater community and the desire to become more like Jesus.
We recently went through The Book of James (by Francis Chan) and The Beatitudes (by Matt Chandler) which were both excellent and thought provoking. We are currently working through a study called, The Deeply Formed Life (by Rich Villodas) which is a spiritual formation book that I had read a few years ago. While we are only a couple sessions in, I have appreciated re-learning the content while in community; the applications have become much broader. I also love hearing different perspectives on things, and how the conversations expand to other relevant topics. RightNow Media is a great supplementary resource to growing your faith, whether for personal study or in a community group as I have shared.
If you do not have access to RightNow Media, this is a free resource that our church provides. All you have to do is click the button below to sign up today, or visit the Spotlight Table on Sunday.
