This is the first of many interviews with our missionaries about how they are doing in the midst of COVID-19. We asked Norman and Donna Nielson a few questions and they graciously updated us on their situation.
What is your current location and missions work?
We are located (residing in) Drumheller, AB, and for the past three years, I [Norman] have been working as the FAIR (Fellowship Aid and International Relief) Associate Director. My responsibilities are managing the humanitarian and social justice projects and programs around the world that FAIR supports or operates. Many of these are directly related to the ministry of our Fellowship International Missionaries.
How is God working in and through you during this unique and challenging season?
As for all of us, it has been very different with the limitations for travel that COVID-19 has introduced. A portion of my time each year has been visiting projects internationally, which of course has been on hold. One of the largest impacts has been on proceeding forward with the transition of the Casa Hogar ministry in Honduras to being totally under FAIR, as this demands some in-country presence which has not been possible. In spite of these setbacks, it has been encouraging to see the Lord's hand on each of the projects and his continuing supply of funds for their operation. Electronic communication has been so important these days and the developments in technology are so helpful.
How have you been impacted by COVID-19?
We have experienced good personal health for which we praise the Lord. However, we have not been able to visit churches and promote the work and ministry of FAIR in Canada as we usually do.
How can we pray for you?
Please pray for our personal transition in ministry that we are presently experiencing as I transition out of the Associate Director role. We so desire to continue to serve as volunteers in our retirement and are seeking the Lord's provision to be able to do this.
Please remember Norman and Donna in your prayers as they go through their own transitions in their personal ministry, and also for FAIR, as they continue to serve during COVID-19. You can also click here to email encouragement to them.
