Passage: Luke 2:7

Through the Christmas story, we are reminded that Jesus made room for us even when we didn't make room for him in our world. The way in which he made room for us was by trading places with us; by taking on our sins upon himself and paying the penalty for our sins on the cross even while he himself was completely without sin. He represented all humanity before the Father and bore our sin and shame in order to give us the opportunity to wear his robe of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). Because of Jesus' sacrificial love, we are now called righteous. However, the good news doesn't end there. God now expects us to grow into his robe of righteousness, and he promises to help us to do that by giving us his word, his Holy Spirit, and his church. This is such good news!
