SDBC Is Turning 65!

16Oct, 2024

It has become our tradition to celebrate our church's birthday every year. For those of you who are relatively new to our church, you may not know that our church was planted in 1959 by a neighbouring church called Ladner Baptist Church. On October 25, 1959, a few families gathered in a home in Tsawwassen to hold our very first worship service as a church. God has blessed our church family for almost sixty-five years since that day, and through our ups and downs, God has remained faithful. This is worth celebrating! And that's exactly what we're going to do on October 27th when we have our communion lunch that Sunday. The lunch in our gym will be themed as a birthday party and we will celebrate God's faithfulness as our church turns 65!

In the bible, God calls his people to celebrate milestones to reflect on God's goodness and remember his faithfulness so that we may learn to trust him for today and tomorrow. Looking to the past is not meant to make us linger in the glory days of yesteryear. Rather, our remembrance of our Lord's work in our lives should propel us boldly forward to continue to faithfully serve him and to participate in his mission. Please mark your calendars and join us as we celebrate this important milestone on October 27th.

Paul joined South Delta Baptist Church in 2013 and has fallen in love with the church since then. He transitioned into the lead pastor role in late 2017, and has been blessed to serve Jesus and the community of South Delta alongside SDBC. He has a strong passion for preaching God’s word and living a missional life empowered by the love of Christ and the Holy Spirit. Outside of ministry, Paul enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife Sarah, and their children Nathan and Christianne.
