Church family, we have some exciting news to share with you. As Pastor Paul mentioned on Sunday, we have met (and even exceeded) the targeted goal for our Refugee Sponsorship Fund. We are currently in the process of sponsoring a Syrian refugee family for their entry into Canada as refugees, and we have been officially approved as a sponsor for this family several months ago. We are still waiting for the family to receive an interview date at the Canadian embassy in their country to finalize the process, so please continue to lift this family up in prayer.
In the meantime, we have been raising funds to prepare for the arrival of the family, and we have received approximately $16,000 through our Thanksgiving Offering, which went directly to the Refugee Sponsorship Fund. We have now received approximately $66,000 and have received a pledge for $30,000, which means we have exceeded our original target of $80,000. With the additional $16,000, our hope is to help the family cover their airfare and travel costs so that they do not start their life in Canada with significant debt.
Thanks to God's provision and your generosity, God has allowed us to raise enough money to set this family up for success in Canada. We are truly thankful and overjoyed to witness God working through us to save this family from harm and give them an opportunity to begin a new life. Thank you for partnering with us in this endeavour. Although this is a significant milestone in the process, we are not done yet. Please continue to partner with us in prayer so that every administrative step would be lifted up to our God in prayer. May he direct this process and continue to grant us success in bringing this family to safety soon!
