We are thankful to have Katie Barczi as our SDBC Kids Intern. Katie grew up in the church and, for many years, has been interested in working as a summer intern. This year, we are able to make that dream come true. Katie will do an amazing job serving the families of SDBC this summer while growing as a next-gen leader as she learns to run Sunday School, put on summer events, and work in a ministry setting. To help you get to know Katie, we asked her a few questions:
Why did you want to work with SDBC Kids?
I wanted to work with SDBC Kids because I had grown up as a student and volunteer going through all the programs, and I wanted to help give back to the ministry that raised me. Ever since I found out that being an intern was an option, I have dreamed of getting the chance to do it, and I couldn't wait to get the opportunity to help support the ministry I love!
What are you most excited about working with SDBC Kids this summer?
I am most excited to make meaningful connections with all the kids and their families and to work with the amazing staff here at SDBC!
What do you hope to learn this summer?
This summer, I hope to learn how to share the gospel meaningfully with all the kids I will get to teach and encounter.
How do you want to see God working in our church this summer?
I hope to see God working in the church through the children's ministry this summer. I hope to see more people feel led to help lead in the Sunday school classes and partner with us to see these kids learn about and experience God in their lives. It is an incredible thing!

You can pray for meaningful connections with the kids and families throughout the summer.
What's your favourite thing to do on the weekend?
My favourite thing to do on the weekend is to hang out with my friends and find new, fun places to watch the sunset with them.
What's your favourite ice cream flavour?
My very favourite flavour of ice cream is moose tracks!
What is your favourite genre of music, artist, and song?
My favourite genre of music is either Christian or Country. My favourite artist is Phil Wickham, and my favourite song is I Still Believe by Jeremy Camp.
Katie will be on staff with us until the end of August, so make sure to say hi and give her that good old SDBC welcome! We cannot wait to see how God is going to use her over the summer. Please pray for Katie and our SDBC Kids team as we launch our summer programming.
