I am very pleased to be able to share some news about our Korean Ministry. Our ministry continues to try new things, take on challenges, and grow.
Eight of our children were baptized during this past Easter service. When the Korean Ministry began three years ago, we never imagined this day would come. Not only the adults, but also our children had to go through many challenges to adapt to this new environment. We never expected that one day they would be able to express and confess their own faith because they were so young. But time has passed, and during that time, God and the church have nurtured their faith. Now they know that being baptized and living as children of God is the most precious blessing in this world. It is truly amazing and deeply moving.
We have started an orchestra composed of wind instruments! Currently, 12 children and youth are gathering each Sunday after worship to practice together with one heart and one mind. Although we are still lacking in many ways, what's most important is that they are enjoying it. Praising God with a variety of instruments is a joyful and delightful experience. The children look forward to this time every week. Though we come from different cultures, backgrounds, and appearances, just as we are all children of one God, each instrument—despite its unique shape and sound—comes together to create a beautiful harmony. We look forward to the day we can share our performance.
Please pray for the All-In-One Camp, which will run from July 16th to August 6th. This year, 50 children and youth are expected to come to Vancouver as part of our effort to raise global Christian leaders. All staff will be volunteering their time and covering their own expenses to devote three full weeks to this sacred mission of nurturing the next generation. If you would like to join our mission, we welcome volunteers, even for a day or two. Whether it's helping with ELL classes, canoe lessons, reading buddies, or downtown tour guiding—we'd love to have native English-speaking teachers or friends participate at any time during the camp.
Please continue to pray for this ministry, as they continue to grow. If you have any questions, feel free to email Grace Kim, our Director of Korean Ministry, or find her at the Spotlight Table on Sunday.
